This Privacy Policy describes how KevCalc (referred to as "we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our application on iOS, and when you visit our website at kevcalc.fm.rodeo.

1. Information Collection and Use

Your privacy is our absolute priority. KevCalc does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information.

Specifically:

No User Accounts: You do not need to register, create an account, or log in to use the app.
Local Persistence: Any values you enter into a calculator are stored exclusively on your own device using iOS's sandboxed UserDefaults storage. They never leave your device.
No Tracking: The app does not include any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or behavioral profiling mechanisms.

2. Live Benchmark Pricing

The EV vs Gas calculator can fetch optional, up-to-date U.S. energy price benchmarks from our web API at kevcalc.fm.rodeo/api/v1/ev-gas/benchmarks, which in turn sources gasoline and residential electricity prices from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). This request contains no personal or device-identifying information beyond standard network connection details.

These benchmark values are only suggestions — every cost input in the app is fully editable, and you can ignore or override them at any time.

3. Hosting & Connection Logs

Our website and API are hosted on Vercel, which logs standard connection-level telemetry (e.g., IP address, user-agent, request timestamp) for security, performance monitoring, and caching. This information is anonymous, aggregated, and is not used to identify or track individual users.

4. Data Security

Because all of your calculator inputs remain on-device, the security of your data is protected by Apple's iOS operating system security protocols and sandboxing. We do not maintain any cloud databases containing user information.

5. Children's Privacy

Because our application collects zero personal information, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect or solicit data from children. It is safe for audiences of all ages.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
